Multi-Digit Division 2

Directions: Using the digits 1 through 9 at most one time each, place a digit in each box to create the smallest whole number quotient possible.

Hint

How can we tell if a quotient will have a whole number quotient without dividing? What digits would be ideal to use for the dividend? What digits would be ideal for the divisor?

Answer

The smallest whole number quotient possible comes from 126 ÷ 9 which has a quotient of 14.

  1. I believe we have a lower quotient: 108 / 9 = 12.

  2. 135 / 9 = 15

    This isn’t the lowest but it is a really close option a student could get to.
