Unit Rates with Fractions 2

Directions: Using the digits 0 to 9 at most one time each, fill in the boxes to create a unit rate with the greatest possible value.

Hint

How will the digits you choose affect whether you can have a single digit numerator in the unit rate?

Answer

The unit rate with the greatest possible value is 9 and can be found multiple ways including 3/1 / 2/6 = 9/1 and 6/2 / 1/3 = 9/1

  1. What about (8/2)/(1/9)=36

That was what I was thinking, but there is a box on the right hand side that must also be a digit from 0 to 9.

      • (9/3)/(6/2)=1/1

      • (6/2)/(1/3)=9/1 –> This assumes that the 1 in the denominator on the right does not exclude the use of 1 in a box on the left. Could this question be extended to “How many different, true statements can you create, given the same conditions?”
