Directions: How many numbers are between 1 and 3?
Hint
Should one and three be included? What types of numbers are we counting? How can we figure out if there are any numbers between the whole numbers?
Answer
While students may initially guess 3 or 1 number, when they start including fractions, they should come to the conclusion that there are infinite numbers between 1 and 3 (or really between any two numbers).

there are the obvious ones but there are the fractions i am not sheer if we are counting fractions but if we are then i agree with Kayla and many other people that there are to many to count but if we are not counting fractions then only one number
At first i thought “well obviously there is only 1 number between 1 and 3” once i typed what i thought was the answer i checked (just to see) and nope it was infinite!

If you use fractions it is infinite but if you use normal numbers it is 1
