Directions: Using the digits 0 to 9, at most one time each, place a digit in each box to make an equation where both sides have the greatest possible value.

What number would be easier/harder to distribute?

Answer

The greatest possible value on both sides is 126 and comes from 9(8 + 6) = 72 + 54.

    The highest result is 126 = 9(6 + 8) = 52 + 74
    The lowest result is 20 = 2(3 + 7) = 04 + 16 or 20 = 2(4 + 6) = 03 + 17. Without leading zeros, it’s
    36 = 3(4 + 8) = 10 + 26 or 36 = 3(5 + 7) = 10 + 26

  5. Should it not be 9*(8+7) = 72+63=135?
