Scatter Plots 2

Directions: Using the integers -9 to 9, at most one time each, place an integer in each box to create the strongest possible linear association.

Hint

How can you tell when an association is stronger or weaker?

Answer

There are many possible answers, but the strongest associations have all their data along a straight line. Two examples of strong associations like that are (-9, -8), (-7, -6), (-5, -4), (-3, -2), (-1, 0), (1, 2) and (-9, 8), (-8, 7), (-7, 6), (-6, 5), (-5, 4), (-4, 3).
