Exponents 1

Directions: Using the integers -9 to 9 at most one time each, place an integer in each box to make two values: one that is positive and one that is negative. You may reuse all the integers each time.

Hint

How do we make the value negative? How does a negative base affect the value? How does a negative exponent affect the value? How can you have a negative base and a positive value?

Answer

There are many possible answers. One is (-3)^5 for a negative value and (-3)^6 for a positive value.
